A French Touch
comes to Lingfield

When French-born osteopath Alexia Lescure moved to Lingfield, she missed the bustling farmers markets she grew up with in Égletons, France. After being encouraged to “start one herself,” she put her heart into creating something special for the village — and the Lingfield Farmers Market was born.

With no financial backing, Alexia invested her own savings to launch the market earlier this year, and all profits are donated to local schools, charities, and community events. What began as her personal dream has quickly become a highlight of village life, bringing people together in a warm, welcoming way.

The real magic of the market is its community spirit. Every month, it’s a place to bump into friends, catch up with neighbours, or strike up conversations with someone new. You never know who you’ll meet or what you’ll chat about — that’s part of the charm. It’s as much about the smiles and stories as it is about the food.

The stallholders, too, have become part of this extended family. From bakers and cheesemakers to farmers, beekeepers, and local artisans, they love the friendly atmosphere and the chance to share their craft with customers who return month after month. Many regular visitors say the market feels like a Sunday morning ritual: a chance to stroll, browse, taste, and connect.

Lingfield Farmer's Market runs on the 2nd Sunday of every month from 9am to 1pm at Lingfield Primary School.

So come along — enjoy the buzz, meet your neighbours, and say hello to the stallholders. It’s a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning and to be part of something truly special in our village.
